The Ranch at Emerald Valley was originally established over 100 years ago as a getaway for Spencer Penrose, a gold & copper magnate. He also founded the luxury hotel & resort, The Broadmoor, of which the Ranch is still associated. Emerald Valley was recently part of a $60 million dollar renovation and will encompass a ‘wilderness experience’ lodging package for guests of the Broadmoor. Similar to other dude ranch vacations, all meals are included on the accommodation price, and outdoor activities include everything from fly-fishing, hiking, and horseback riding. Definitely worth noting – all guests of the Ranch at Emerald Valley share amenities of the Broadmoor (golf, spa, tennis), which is located just a few miles away.
