Open since 1938, Devil’s Thumb is a luxury dude ranch that features two restaurants, a spa, and some of the best cross-country trails in the region. A darn simple hours drive from Denver (minutes from Winter Park), the ranch is a relaxing retreat for city folks and ranchers alike. The Lodge is the central gathering point at the ranch, and features a three-story fireplace constructed from stones gathered from a nearby rockslide. For the kids (age 5-12), Devil’s Thumb offers a ‘Cowpoke Camp’ which fills their day up with themed activities and allows the parents some well deserved R&R.
