An amazing sunset captured at the Tanque Verde Ranch in Tucson, AZ.

This Spring, some helpful volunteers helped construct new benches around the spring-fed lakes at Chico Basin Ranch. This great photo was snapped as the finished product was being test ridden.. What a great shot!

As the East Coast experienced a milder than normal winter, our Western friends at Rainbow Trout Ranch are still welcoming late snow storms.. their latest rolled through on April 4th! Amazing to see how blue the skies are after a snowfall..

The Wind River Ranch, in Estes Park Colorado, recently finished construction of an impressive climbing wall with three (3) separate climbing surfaces as well as a 600ft dual zipline.

Pretty impressive if you ask me..

For all you east coasters planning a Disney World trip before your ranch vacation, there’s a somewhat hidden gem to consider..

Nestled within mouseland is the ‘Tri Circle D Ranch’ (get it? tri circles = mouse head + D = Disney)..

Although not a full blown dude ranch, it offers a bevy of horseback riding activities, including 45 minute trail rides around the natural woodlands surrounding the property. Stable tours & Carriage rides are also available for those with smaller children.

A wonderful opportunity, though, for families interested in some initial riding before they embark on their official ranch vacation!

The L.A. Times travel writer Christopher Reynolds zoomed through Arizona recently to celebrate the state’s centennial. In a twitter like homage, he produced a 100 second video highlighting the state’s history and outdoor adventures. Baked into that homage is a visit to the Flying E Ranch in Wickenburg. Strap in and take a peek!

The University of Texas mascot, Bevo, recently visited the White Stallion Ranch in Arizona en route to the Holiday Bowl in San Diego…

According to the White Stallion blog, Bevo “is 9 years old, weighes a little over 2,000lbs and spent the night in our roundpen”

I was pretty mesmerized watching this video. We can all attest to the personal connection humans can make with horses, but it’s pretty clear from this video, that connection extends well beyond us.. enjoy!
